Using code hopping technology,  Merlin remotes have an easy code learning system in place, making it simple for the user to code in or delete new/old remotes.

Merlin M802 Garage and Gate Remote Control Programming Instructions

         

  1. Remove front cover from your existing remote.
  2. Remove the cover from your existing remote.
  3. Simply copy the existing 12 pin combination from old to new remote.
  4. Replace both remote covers
  5. Test remote.

Merlin M842 Garage and Gate Remote Control Programming Instructions

  1. Remove the green rectangular button cover to reveal the receiver board. In some cases, the green cover will be under the white light cover.
  2. Locate the red Learn/Delete button on the receiver board
  3. Press and hold the Learn/Delete button until the courtesy light starts flashing. If your courtesy light is not working listen for a clicking noise to confirm that your unit is in programming mode.
  4. Press and release the large button
  5. Press and release the small button
  6. Test remote, the large button will operate the door and the small button will operate the light on the motor.

Merlin MT230 Garage and Gate Remote Programming Instructions

  1. Remove small black plastic cover on back of motor and locate red programming button
  2. Press and hold the Learn/Delete button until the courtesy light starts flashing. If your courtesy light is not working listen for a clicking noise to confirm that your unit is in programming mode.
  3. Press and release the large button
  4. Press and release the small button
  5. Test remote, the large button will operate the door and the small button will operate the light on the motor.

Merlin E945M Garage and Gate Remote Programming Instructions

  1. Remove the white light cover to reveal the receiver board. Locate the orange Learn or LRN button.
  2. On your new remote press and hold any button on the remote. Continue holding through step 4.
  3. While still holding the button on your remote press the learn button on the motor receiver board.
  4. Release the button on your new remote.
  5. If successful the courtesy light on the unit will turn on. Your new remote is now programmed
  6. Test remote.

Merlin M844 Remote Programming Instructions

  1. Remove the bottom light cover to reveal the receiver board. Locate the purple Learn or LRN button.
  2. On your new remote press and hold any button on the remote. Continue holding through step 4.
  3. While still holding the button on your remote press the learn button on the motor receiver board. The yellow LED will light up.
  4. Release the button on your new remote.
  5. If successful the yellow LED on the roller door unit will turn off. Your new remote is now programmed.
  6. Test remote.

Merlin 2.0 Programming Instructions

  1. Remove back cover to locate yellow programming button.
  2. Press and release yellow programming button
  3. Press and release button on remote.
  4. Test remote.

Deleting Remotes

Most Merlin remotes are deleted by holding down the Learn or LRN button mentioned previously in the learning procedures above for a period of 15 seconds.

Keep in mind that once this procedure has been done it will delete all existing working remotes from the receiver.
